Health to Heart Foundation Mission
The Health to Heart Foundation has been created with the aim of helping rural and indigenous individuals in various parts of the world. The foundation’s vision is to see that every woman, man, and child have access and to basic medical care and treatment as well as fundamental knowledge in preventative care.
There are many people living in regions of the world today who have limited or no access to health centers. Often, these individuals travel hours and in many instances days for basic care that often times can be averted with preventative care measures.
The foundation’s short term goals is to have the resources and financial means to travel to remote regions of the world with a mobile clinic to provide medical services, conduct a more detailed needs assessment of the communities that Heart to Health is already serving as well as creating local community partnerships.
Preventative health education and teaching will also be provided with the focus of prevention of disease by way of good health through nutritional guidance, basic hygiene and clean water measures.
When it comes to long term goals, medical services will expand by having laboratory testing. Basic lab tests such as urinalysis, pregnancy testing, checking for anemia and HIV will be invaluable and improve the quality of services provided.

Dental clinics and surgical care will be the part of this expansion of care. Dental clinics will coincide with medical clinics as many individuals frequently visit both. Aside from basic dental exams, cleaning and extractions, instruction on achieving good oral hygiene will be provided.
Surgical care will be provided at pre-arranged community hospitals, clinics and health centers at accessible locations.
Creating a more comprehensive medical team of volunteers and resources both from the United States as well as from local communities is also a component of the organizations long term goals.
Heart to Health seeks to recruit and empower each community so that they become more self-sufficient with health and wellness issues. This will be achieved through classroom teaching and hands-on learning.
A needs assessment will be conducted in each community visited to assess the overall health at each location with the help and guidance of local community members. These assessments will include but are not limited to data gathering looking at the overall health status, the regional health issues, morbidity and mortality reports, resource availability and nutrition.
The Heart to Health Foundation recognizes the importance of community involvement in the sustainability of any health initiative worked in these regions, which is why partnering with local community members and clinics will be one of its major priorities. While Heart to Health will serve as the initial catalyst in improving the health of these communities it’s the local people who will be its major organizers and advocates.
The key to the success and sustainability in its initiatives will be its collaboration with local community members in the creation, development and execution of its healthcare projects.
By partnering with the local community in conducting needs assessments, promoting local health clinics as well as incorporating local health advocates in the region, Heart to Health will develop closer ties to its communities creating a far greater sustainability and cooperation within its stakeholders.
